In the past day, lava fountains have been shooting up to 100 feet high with the flow covering the southwest portion of the crater floor.
It reached up to 130 feet the day prior.
The eruption coincides with a seismic swarm that produced a 4.3 magnitude earthquake earlier this week.
USGS said eruptive activity remains confined to Halemaumau Crater.
Residents are advised to take precaution against vog downwind of Kilauea.
