Japanese teppanyaki goes mobile with Wasabi Express by Tiger
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Japanese style of hibachi grilling known as teppanyaki has gone mobile with Wasabi Express by Tiger.
Chef Tiger Guy and Kelsie Martinez joined HNN’s Sunrise to showcase the concept they launched in Hawaii, after owning three take-out style restaurants in the continental U.S.
Chef Tiger has more than 20 years of experience, mastering the art at Benihana in Hawaii, Hibachi Japan, and Wasabi in Canton, Ohio.
Each meal includes garlic fried rice, mixed seasonal vegetables, and scratch-made “yum yum” sauce, which is cooked in Tiger’s smokey house teriyaki. The protein choices range from mahi-mahi, salmon, ribeye, New York steak, garlic shrimp, lobster and scallops.
You can find Wasabi Express at the Pearl Ridge Village Night Market every Saturday night from 5-9 p.m., Wednesdays at the Kapilina Night Market in Ewa Beach, and Sundays at the Bellows AF Base Entrance. They offer catering as well.
